Are donations to Mercy Ships Australia tax-deductible?

Yes. Donations of $2 or more to the Relief Fund are tax-deductible.

Can I donate to Mercy Ships Australia by phone

Yes, you can. Please call our National Office on 1300 739 899 and we’ll process your donation over the phone.

Can I donate to Mercy Ships Australia by direct deposit or BPAY?

Yes, you can. Please call our National Office on 1300 739 899 to request our bank account details or BPAY Biller Code and your reference number.

Can I donate to Mercy Ships Australia by direct debit?

Yes, you can now make one-off and regular donations directly from your bank account by direct debit via our website here.  Alternatively, please download our Direct Debit Request & Service Agreement or contact our National Office by calling 1300 739 899 or emailing [email protected] to request a copy be mailed to you.

Can I change my regular donation to Mercy Ships Australia?

Yes. If you would like to reduce, increase or alter the frequency of your regular donation to Mercy Ships Australia, please contact our National Office by calling 1300 739 899 or emailing [email protected]

How do I cancel my regular donation to Mercy Ships Australia?

We understand that you may no longer be in a position to continue your regular donations to Mercy Ships Australia. To cancel your regular donation, please contact our National Office by calling 1300 739 899 or emailing [email protected]

I gave through a workplace giving program. Why haven't I received an annual tax receipt?

For workplace giving, your employer is responsible for providing confirmation for your contributions for the financial year.

I still haven't received my annual tax receipt. Where is it?

Processing annual receipts can take some time. If you haven’t received your annual tax receipt from Mercy Ships Australia and need to complete your tax return, please contact our National Office by calling 1300 739 899 or emailing [email protected] to request the total amount you have given during the financial year.

Please note that annual tax receipts are only provided to regular donors. If you have given a one-off donation, you will receive your tax receipt by mail or email at the time of your donation.

How is the money I donate to Mercy Ships Australia used?

Your donation will be used within the African nation we are currently serving to deliver free, world-class health care services, capacity building and sustainable development aid to those without access.

Can I specify which Mercy Ships program my donation is used for?

Yes. To view what types of surgeries and community development programs Mercy Ships undertakes, visit How We Help. Then enter your preferred program in the ‘My donation is for’ field when you donate. You can also specify which program your donation is used towards when donating by phone or mail.

What happens to my donation when a Mercy Ships program is fully funded?

Donor designation will be honoured to the fullest extent possible. In the event that any project becomes fully funded or circumstances change, we will apply the gift to meet another similar project, or where the need is greatest.

Does Mercy Ships Australia fundraise through social media, raffles, door-to-door etc?

We do use various methods to raise funds. If you are suspicious of a request or think there is something wrong, please call our National Office on 1300 739 899 immediately to alert us of your concerns. Alternatively, if you believe you have seen or fallen victim to a scam, you can report this to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au.
