Melody Woolford

Ambassador (NSW)

Gabrielle Reilly

Melody Woolford brings more than a decade of experience across international development, philanthropy, humanitarian organisations, and strategic partnerships to her role as NSW Ambassador for Mercy Ships Australia.

Her career has spanned global health, refugee support, community-led development, and social impact initiatives across both Australia and the United States.

Melody’s background includes program and partnership development, trust and foundation fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and cross-sector collaboration, including earlier work with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

What drew Melody to Mercy Ships is the organisation’s combination of immediate, life-changing surgical care and long-term health systems strengthening.

Alongside providing free surgeries, Mercy Ships partners with local governments, hospitals, and healthcare professionals to expand surgical training and strengthen healthcare systems for the future.

Based in Sydney, Melody is passionate about connecting individuals, philanthropists, foundations, businesses, and community leaders with opportunities to support practical, sustainable global health impact. She believes meaningful partnerships are built through shared values, trust, and a genuine commitment to improving lives.

Melody welcomes opportunities to connect with individuals and organisations across New South Wales who are interested in helping expand access to safe surgery and healthcare in underserved communities around the world.
