Dear Siara,
Today is your last outpatients appointment. You are all ready to go home. This way of saying goodbye is always hard. I’ll never see you again. I do not know what to say to you. You dad does not know what to say to me. I just have to let you go…
Now, I wonder if you are reunited with your mum and siblings. I wish I could have been there when your mum gazed at you – her daughter, a malnourished girl weighing 3.5 kg with a cleft lip and cleft palate, has transformed into an 8.5kg beautiful girl with a father who has learned to care for his daughter. I would have given the world to be a witness of that.
You are the reason that I’m here, sweet little Siara. You are my muse.
